It would be great if the two Golden Thread volumes were available electronically--on kindle and elsewhere.

Thank you for this clear and hopeful manifesto.

The image of the golden thread—Theseus finding his way out of the Minotaur’s cave—beautifully captures what you’re calling for: not naive optimism, but resilient remembrance and renovation of the Western tradition.

I’ve been exploring a closely related path on my Substack through a series I call “The Way Home”. It draws directly on the Greek roots you highlight. In it I retell key episodes from Homer’s Odyssey as they reveal the pitfalls of the human condition.

Each stage confronts one of the subtle fantasies that distort both individuals and societies—control, fairness, fulfillment, satisfaction, abundance, and others—and traces how the biblical Fruit of the Spirit offers the counter-wisdom that loosens their grip and orients us toward home, belonging, and renewal.

As someone formed by both classical story and Christian faith (and as a veteran who has navigated my own long return), this project has felt like one small but living contribution to the larger tapestry you describe.

Your work reminds me that these stories offer threads we can follow out of our own labyrinths.

I'm grateful for the broader historical and civilizational case you are making—it gives fresh weight to why reclaiming narrative and faith together still matters.
